A conference in April will inform retailers on leasing opportunities at the Staten Island Ferry’s St. George Terminal.
On April 29, at the Hilton Garden Inn, retailers will have the opportunity to learn about leasing space at the St. George Ferry Terminal. This special seminar will take place 9:30 to 11 a.m. during the Staten Island Economic Development Corp.’s (SIEDC) annual SI Conference.
The session, “Retail Leasing at the St. George Ferry Terminal,” is presented by Assemblyman Lou Tobacco, the New York City Economic Development Corp. (NYCEDC) and Jeanne Giordano Ltd. Attendees will have the opportunity to review the lease offer and ask questions regarding the technical submission requirements.
“This is a terrific opportunity for Staten Island restaurants and businesses to expand their operations to a highly desirable location and provide consumers from across the region and around the world with the goods and services that Staten Island is well known for,” said Assemblyman Tobacco. “I am pleased that I could do my part with the SIEDC in supporting this important economic endeavor and am hopeful that the success of the St. George Ferry Terminal will help renew Staten Island’s waterfront economy.”
“EDC is happy to work with DOT to bring quality retail to the St. George Ferry Terminal,” said Venetia Lannon, NYCEDC senior vice president, “These new retail opportunities will provide Staten Islanders with quality options that fit their needs and encourage visitors reasons to get off the ferry and explore all that Staten Island has to offer.”
“We envision “A Taste of Staten Island” in the St. George Ferry Terminal so that visitors can sample the variety of good food and cultural amenities that lay beyond the piers; and residents can pick up something on the way to work or going home,” said Jeanne Giordano, NYCEDC’s consultant for ferry retailing. “We also hope to have a wonderful restaurant with outdoor seating and spectacular views. This type of amenity will bring people from both sides of the river.”
The seminar is free, however those interested in participating are asked to register by calling 718-477-1400.
