Healthy Start, Stay Smart

Once a year, The Downtown Staten Island Council in partnership with Health Plus, SI University Hospital, 120 Police Precinct, NYC Parks Dept., organizes an effort to pool local resources for community children to receive free health screenings and school supplies at our Healthy Start, Stay Smart, Back–To-School initiative. Healthy Start, Stay Smart is a community outreach campaign organized to promote health awareness, child safety, nutrition, and the importance of education. Children and families have the opportunity to take advantage of free health screenings, find out pertinent information about affordable or free healthcare services. Children who participate and visit the necessary Healthy Start stations, qualify to receive a care package of FREE school supplies to Stay Smart!
